Gold car emblems were once a status symbol in the 1990s. They conveyed to others that you had a luxurious car and that you were somebody important. I think it's time to bring back this subtle way of showing off your wealth.

There's something about gold that just screams wealth and power. It's been used as a currency, a store of value and a status symbol for centuries, and its lustrous sheen has always been associated with luxury. Gold is so valuable that it's even used in dental work - after all, nothing says "I'm rich" like a mouth full of bling. Whether it's in the form of coins, jewelry or simply bars of bullion, gold has always been a sign of affluence. So the next time you see someone sporting a gaudy gold necklace or ring, just remember: they're not just trying to look good - they're also trying to show off their wealth.

Rulers have hoarded it, churches have used it to decorate their altars and people have spent fortunes to buy gold jewelry. Governments keep huge reserves of gold in their vaults, and many people view gold as a safe investment.

These days, car designs are becoming more and more extravagant. Murdered out, all-black designs are so last decade. I think it's time to add a little bit of luxury back into the mix with gold car emblems.

Given that we're supposedly entering the roaring twenties, gold car emblems seem well-timed to make a comeback. The wild designs of automakers that are being unveiled daily are perfectly positioned for some bling that isn't a boring black or silver. Let's use China as an example. Car buyers love crazy designs, ones with enormous grilles, wide lights and massive screens inside.

For example, there's nothing subtle about many of the new designs coming out of homegrown Chinese companies and foreign companies making models specifically for that market. Gold car emblems would add just the right amount of flash to these already over-the-top designs.

Gold is the wealth standard of the world, so why not show off your riches with a gold car emblem?

I think it's time for a change. I'm sick of seeing the same old silver badges day in and day out. Let's bring back some traditional luxury with gold car emblems!
